On this Sunday morning, we woke up to breakfast cooked by Keith, and we had morning devotional after breakfast. Church service followed up next where Uncle Paul preached about Youths and Daniel and Kevin sharing touching stories of how internship in Chiang Mai changed their hearts. They both did a great job. At the end of everything the team sang some songs for the church: Someday, and Why So Downcast.
Emotions went high after that as Daniel had broke down and cried as his story was heartbreaking. We all prayed around him and comforted him and even cried with him. It goes to show how much we have bonded during this trip through God. Now we’re a close brothers and sisters in Christ.
After that, we went to the children’s home and spent an afternoon there playing really fun games, singing action songs, like “Give me a J! J you got your J!” and a Thai campfire dance we did a few days back in Baw Gaew. Seeing the children happy was worth the time we were there, and that made us happy. Amidst all the fatigue, the smiles on these children’s faces perked us up better than any coffee could.
Kenneth, Candice, and Kevin had to leave for the airport in the evening, and we saw them off in the children’s home but had earlier decided to surprise them by showing up at the airport with flowers and cards. All these went off without a hitch, and we could see that they were pretty moved by our actions. Again, it goes to show how close we were, and how much we had bonded.All too soon, we had to go. We said our goodbyes and left the airport for the Walking Street. We spent two hours there. We bought quite a lot of stuff, mostly souvenirs, and met later at some coffee house where we had a short coffee break before returning to the Zone.
Late at night, we decided that the Jao Ford (the pick up truck that the apprentices used) was pretty much looking like an army truck, mud and all and we went to clean up the truck, which now looks like it’s just been bought. A round of failed water fights ensued when we found out we were cleaning the truck using Daniel’s blessed boxers. We turned in at around 6 am in the morning (Monday) before starting the new day.
